Nashville Arts Magazine, March 2012
Celebrated Nashville portrait artist Michael Shane Neal recently traveled to the British Isles to lend his brush to one of Scotland’s historic families. Sir Malcolm Colquhoun and his wife, Lady Katherine, invited Neal to Scotland to capture Sir Malcolm’s likeness in oils. The portrait commemorates his appointment as the Chief of th eClan of Colquhoun (Calhoun in the U.S.). As a follow-up to the original portrait sitting, Colquhoun visited Nashville in February to sit for the portrait in Neal’s studio. Neal, who has painted many luminaries of our time, was thrilled to have the opportunity for this artistic exchange across the pond.
