Step 2: Using a large brush, I begin massing in the big shapes and color values. Although I don't make a habit of using a white untoned canvas, sometimes the clean, crisp surface can be fun. The challenge is judging the correct value. In this case, I must trust the value as it appears mixed on my palette and not as I initially place it on the white canvas.
